  • Laos maybe a poor country, but the people there are happy. At least they are not a slave to Corporate America like everyone living in the US working from 6am to 6pm....stressful.

  • There is some truth in that. After months of travelling, it was culture shock to go through a US airport with all the worried faces yelling into phones and typing on blackberries at every free second. Laos has (so far) retained a sense of community that has been lost in western cultures. But beneath the smiles, poverty and lack of opportunity remain. I wouldn't volunteer to trade places but I suspect that many of them would. I wonder if prosperity and simple happiness are mutually exclusive.

  • A really wonderful film documentary. Being a Lao, I felt very close and personal on seeing your clip. It reminds me of all the good and wonderful things Laos has for the world to appreciate. Thank u very much for sharing.

  • Laos really is beautiful and so natural.....look at the mountains, the river, the forrest....truly breathtaking.

  • Life has not changed much in Laos in the past 30 years esp. in the countryside. Reminds me so much of my childhood in Laos. It makes me cry.  I miss it. Thanks for sharing.

  • As nice as Laos seems today it is still a very oppressive country.
