I hate when everything is nowadays about safety, safety and safety, but you realise how fast modern prototypes could go if it still was 5 km straight? even modern safety is no use when you're going 400 mk/h.
And the Le Mans start was already abandoned in 1970, and that hardly has any meaning.
I think Le Mans incredibly well retained all the aspects, there is still nothing quite like Le Mans.

Where on earth are the comments about THE LEGEND Mike Hailwood who saved a drivers life in F1, and won the Bike Grand Prix championships many times, (now known as MotoGP). He was killed in 1980.

Today's race was not too different! Great stuff.

These are unforgettable memories for me personally and I'm sure younger viewers can appreciate the skill and bravery of this (mostly dead) bunch of men.

5:01 in the pit lane was that a little fight between a Porsche mechanic and a cameraman the pressure is building!!! Great stuff :-)

It is really great to be able to re-live this fantastic historic race again, it brings emotional tears to my eyes to see this video series! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
I was lucky enough to have been there in person in 1969 and witness sports car history being made! It's hard to truely relay to others how fantastic this race & the Le Mans experience in general was. Now I can show them! ps - I read in Stars & Stripes a few days later that Ickx actually drove the winning car home after the race!!!

Contrary to what the narrator, Maxwell Boyd, said, this was NOT the first time the same car won at LeMans twice. Wolf Barnato drove the same Bentley Speed Six to victory in both 1929 and 1930.

It's amazing to see a new Ford GT on the road today. The overall body design is the same as the GT40's (except now they're bigger) but it's such a contemporary design that there's no need for further development. As far as styling goes, it may as well have been designed yesterday.
That car has transcended time.
Thanks for uploading this.
