  • suzuki V Strom is a little bit more powerfull and has 6 gears, also a pretty good bike ... but i don't like the suzuki design so HONDA is more beautiful x)

  • I believe that Honda has finally the product that the market was looking for. A handyman to be used mainly in the city and sometimes on dirt.

I agree that actually lacks an adequate response to KTM 990 and BMW HP2. A new Africa Twin would all agree.

  • nice bike, but nothing compared to my Africa Twin!!!

  • @jimmysimpson , there is no doubt the translap is a beauty and has better quality, but the desing of the KLR is been around more than 20 year and its so reliable even the US army uses it for desert operations, also many travelers have gone around the world on it.

i just dont know if it can take a beating, the translap is so beautiful i will hurt if it gets dirty! lol

  • @maximocremoso yeah but is without the quality

  • my 09 klr does the same and alot cheePA!

  • I think you should hang on to that bike, It really is a great bike! I wish I could go back and buy it instead of my 08 fireblade because it's more my style (riding position, luggage, and relative comfort) And don't forget that with more power, comes less fuel economy and more speeding tickets heheh

  • When you say motorway speeds, I'm sure you mean above 75mph (120km/h)

My usual motorway cruising speed is around 50-60mph (90-100km/h). I only have the ocasional 180mph blast off heheh. So it's really difficult for me to feel that a vehicle is incapable on the motorway as I almost always cruise at those speeds to save fuel. I remember reaching 81mph (130km/h) very easily on the xl700va, but I used max revs. About the power on low/mid revs I really didn't feel any lack of it.

  • I am new to bikes, but have bought a xl700va. I would like to tour but find it needs a 6th for motorway use. and in 4th and 5th there isn't much on low to mid revs. However it is a great bike for me - being a beginner - and will be keeping it for quite some time. looking at it these are only minor faults and there is nothing to replace it with. Looked at versys, v-strom and f650gs comfort and ride for me seemed best on transalp.
