They have some valid points. I have fixed Computers since Jan 1999 and did over the phone Tech support for cable for 2 yrs at the same time. They are right some of the problems take a bit of time to figure out. I don't have the A+ Cert, but the real world knowledge that I have is 100 times better than only having theory to work with. This is my 2 cents on the matter

So how do you know if your good enough to fix computers? I do fix my computer and other friends computers, but how do you know if your good enough to do it for a living? I have never given the solution of you have to reformat. Except on my own computer when a virus extremely screwed up my Windows OS.

@TheEpicOtaku A lot of people I meet, have no clue what they are doing. Then they go trough the computer and delete important things often. So they take a simple problem, and turn it into a big one. A lot of people know nothing about electronics, just how to use them.

When I was a technician at Best Buy, they used to bring in people with no computer ability because they could sell, and I had to work trying to train them how to fix computers and repair their mistakes. From what I understand, little has changed. If you need your computer fixed, go on Craigslist, and you can find someone to do it for 1/10th of the cost, and they will probably know their ass from a hole in the ground.
