Adaptation of Upton Sinclair's 1927 novel "Oil!", (the inspiration for "There Will Be Blood"), from European auteur "Stix", 'Oh Almonds' was the winner of the 'Prix Du Maurice Chevalier' at the 1934 Welwyn Garden City Film Festival. Its pioneering use of colour (five years before 'Gone With The Wind' and 'The Wizard Of Oz') led Luis Bunuel to describe it as "more revolutionary that the shooting of the Romanoffs". Look out for an early cameo from Edward G. Robinson, and a gay kiss within the Western genre that predates 'Brokeback Mountain' (and indeed its sequel, 'Bareback Mounting') by over 70 years.
