"FOCUS", composed by Eddie Sauter featuring RAY PIZZI on Tenor Sax, conducted by Jack Elliot with Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra-1999. The piece was composed for Stan Getz, 1961 and was in the midst of the third stream movement, intergrating jazz and classical music.
A music history factoid....Stan Getz also studied Bassoon with Simon Kovar.
This is the 2nd movement "Pan" The piece is 90% improvised for Tenor Sax, containing interesting features as bi-tonal scales and complex time signatures.
In Loving Memory of Jack Elliot, Friend, Composer, Arranger, Conductor and FOUNDER of the Henry Mancini Institute. Thanks for all the beautiful Music and Thrills Jack.
Wonderful performance, Ray.
