Joel Greeno, a farmer from Kendall Wisconsin, and Vice President of Family Farm Defenders talks of the unity and solidarity with teachers, workers, and unions as the farmers stand behind them in community building and sustainability. Video includes brief comments from Scott Schultz of the Wisconsin Farmers Union on the grass roots efforts.

The Farm Labor Tractorcade was a tractor rally from the Alliant Center to the capitol square in Madison Wisconsin. The rally was organized by Family Farm Defenders, a non-profit organization, which is basically what it says... about family.

  • Many jobs are going to China. Their average pay in 2005 was $5,000 while the U.S. was $42K. The sucking sound is bring the U.S. down to their level instead of bringing them up to ours. Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and fancy financiers are sucking our country dry; unions good or bad are the scapegoats and diversion from larger problems.

  • I hope the govornor of Wisconsin stands his ground. The unions have sucked enough from this country including pricing themselves out of business forcing factories to move overseas.

  • I love this video. I drove from Mpls to Madison to see the Farmers and to support them. I took pictures over that the center where they were lined up and unfortunately was at the wrong corner to see them come in but I did take lots of pictures when they got there. I loved the Cow outfits also. But this video let me see what I had missed and I thank you. Two great speakers on this video that I will share with others along with my photos on flickr under gannieca.

  • Thanks and support from a very small urban raw milk farmer in Seattle.
