The National always kind of reminded me of Bruce Springsteen in a way. I'm glad they're finally getting their due a bit. Great band.

I also love the three albums you mentioned... but seriously, how could you ignore "Darkness on the Edge of Town" or "Born to Run." Those albums deal with similar themes just with full-band arrangements.
The honesty is always there; sometimes the presentation changes.

I never liked this song. Then I heard it covered by Billy Bragg. Still didn't like it. Then I heard it covered by Emmylou Harris, and it wasn't bad. Then I heard these guys cover it. Now I think of it as a really good song.
Funny thing is, I'm not a fan of Emmylou Harris or The National (I'm not saying they're not good, I just don't seek them out) but I am a fan of both Springsteen and Bragg.
