It is road legal because the vehicle which is quick to convert back to tyres is road legal too !! It was quite good on the hill so no idea why they were not developed further.

It use to belong to my family when it worked for a living taking deer of the hill. My gardfather bought it from Lord Arthus Rank who used it on a Grouse Moor near Nairn. It was sold to a family friend & when he died it was bought back by Cuthbertson who restored it (It was always in good condition though). I last drive it in 1982 I think. We are at Newtonmore in the Scottish Highlands and it was once used to rescue a crew of Hydro Electric workers in a blizzard on the Corrieyarrik Pass.

I thought they were called matt tracks?

That's unnecessary. A land rover only needs tires and it can conquer any obstacle lol.

thats no land rover, thats an ancient artifact. go put it back in the museum

@carifyme So you clicked on a video titled 'land rover on tank tracks' saw a land rover on tank traps and you're complaining about it? And your complaint is that he wasted your time despite the fact you probably about the same amount of time to post your comment.
Riiiiiiight. Are you thick or just american?

i'd like to see that thing in action.
A beutiful IIa with a conversion by the firm of Cuthbertson & Sons, at Biggar in Scotland. It is a stand alone sub frame that has the same dimentions as the 88. In tests it had a tendencey to borrow stright ahead on an incline as opposed to climbing. Too much weight. Research was halted in the early seventies. Cool post. Thanks.
