To High D or not to high D, that is the question? This cabaletta is often cut from live performance, and it is shame. I find it very pleasing, especially when it is performed by the greatest tenors.

Rather let's leave the high D to the tenori di grazia. I think is better a not so high note than an early retirement.

He had such a great voice when he started out. He should have stayed with this rep. and he'd still sound good. I guess the temptation to do bigger repertoire is too great. And you know, high D's are both incredibly difficult and overrated. Over a chorus, no less? No thanks! Why are singers defined by high notes? Sure they can be exciting, but then we all ignore the great singing that accompanies the high note.

Roberto Fenomenal como siempre, era de esperarse que se omitiera la tradición final del Re agudo, ya que no esta escrita en la partitura original y aqui la dirección corre a cargo del gran Riccardo Muti (Come Scritto)
