Gunshot test 1

The first part of this clip is the actual gunshot test footage. The second part is a quick composite using the first clip. Under more controlled circumstances (i.e. using a tripod), the composite would have come out more realistic. Check out the Gunshot Test 2 video to see where else this was used.

@juanelox1212 it was chocolate syrup, corn syrup, red food dye, corn starch for thickening, and some cottage cheese for "guts". We just played with varying amounts of each ingredient until we got it how we wanted it, so I don't know an exact measure of each.

you could do some post-production motion stabilization to this footage as an alternative solution to the lack of tripod.

@Valsam75 I did some pretty hardcore post-production stabilization. The problem is, digital stabilizers require a few high contrast, stationary points to lock onto. And there are none in this clip. The blood is high contrast, but since it is dripping down the wall, it is by no means stationary.

Test for a gunshot effect used in a film. Made with compressed air and a fake blood mixture. Tests don't have to look great as long as they do exactly what you need them to do. This one did. It proved to us that the fake blood mixture would splatter effectively. My "Gunshot test 2" video is the second test, with the purpose of proving that the blood mixture could also be composited realistically.

I don't think I have the original clip anymore, but this clip is really not good for compositing anyway, since it is so shaky.
