Dogs are often atracted by the spining of your feet so you can try stopping pedalling to see if they loose interest. If they are close in you can try pushing the sole of your shoe straight towards the face rather than kicking out as a kick is anticipated but a stomp isn't. Maintain eye contact snarl and bare your teeth, the dog sees you like prey to be chased but this tells it otherwise. If in doubt shoot it or come back later to run it over in your car.

- when the dog is on the middle of the road, i slowing down, evade them, speed up ti 20-25 mPh, ad then i apply the same tehnique :D

Be sure you have a verry good balance on the bike to do this, and of course alot of BALLS - BALLS !!! Usualy i use the counter wheight of my body by balancing the bike on the "problem" side, and hit the dog with a truly Karate HIT, to thransfer more energi on the "problem" >:)

Usualy, when i see dog's on the road i make 2 things:

- if is on one side of the road (left or right), and begin to come after me, i speed up to not intercept the dog's, and when come side by side with me, i hit him hard directly with my leg (left or right), even if i have 30 mPh. Usualy that dog don't come after me second time, because first time i sended him on a 20-30 degree angle from the road direction, wit my foot an a 20-30 mPh.

ive been chased by dogs once out on some backroads..there were three of them..not too big of dogs..but all i did was turn around, use my manly voice and just yelled "go home" as soon as my voice came out, the "leader" dog stopped, put its tail between its legs and they went back the way they came..

also for dogs one of the most effective deterrents after a dog is beside you knawing at your heels is to give the dog a squirt of water in the face from your water bottle, it really stuns them and gives you escape time.
