P.S. I should have said I could hazard a guess he might have wrote it about his wife and family, he is a very Loving and Caring Individual. He said in an interview the day his daughter was born and they placed her in his arms was the day he finally became a Man.

Grohl said in an interview that this was one of his most revealing songs he's written. He says it's hard for him to perform because he gets choked up thinking about spending time away from the things that are most important to him. Although I think it would be cool to see this performed the chances of him doing it live are slim to none.
