DHS Checkpoint Blog Entry 6: Quasi-Detention

This video is #6 in an ongoing series highlighting my seizures at an internal suspicionless Homeland Security checkpoint in Southern Arizona.

This seizure took place on March 3, 2008 over 40 miles North of the border on SR86 near mile marker 146.

The stopping agent is the same one who has stopped me on multiple occasions in the past and knows exactly who I am and why I'm traveling along the road. Nonetheless, he insists on playing domination games while making conflicting statements regarding my status (i.e. whether or not I'm being detained).

If you mean the individual where Border Patrol agents falsified a drug dog alert at a checkpoint in order to justify calling the Arizona DPS to bust out his windows, slam his forehead into broken glass, tazer him for about 20 seconds & drag him out of his vehicle with further pounding on the side of the highway then no I'm not peperonyandchease.

That's funny Romanov131, nothing happens if I don't answer their questions too, besides reminding armed Border Patrol agents not actually patrolling the border that they have no legitimate authority to compel people to answer their questions away from the actual border that is. Not to mention an opportunity to educate people like you what our rights are while being seized absent suspicion at checkpoints such as this.

@mmagar5754 if you live near a border where Spanish is still pretty prominent and Spanish is your first language then you're going to have that accent so it's still very possible that he's an American citizen.

Thanks. *Sigh* a lot of time wasted once again. It does help to have a video camera for all these intrusions. These not-at-the-border checkpoints are just to hassle us Americans apparently. It's like do they really have to ask who's a citizen and who isn't? If we are truly looking for illegal mexicans, I think anyone can use basic skills of perception to know who to ask - the fact that they dissociate from the idea to "profile" people is RIDICULOUS as it central to who we're "looking" for.

@CheckpointUSA apperently most of the "nazi " checkpoints are conducted by latinos.

some one should invent a cell phone application where once some one locates a check point that person can upload that information to everyone who has the app, and all app subscribers may take another route if they choose.
