*There is a lot of money in oil. It wouldnt take much to get a monopoly on the world's oil supplies and prices if an oil company got someone in to the white house would it?* Take your pick on reasons why somebody would run for presidency however, there are unlimited self serving reasons to pick from which are all as valid as any other reason.

The presidency isn't for the good of the nation and never has been in the recent years in which I have followed politics. It has always been used to serve the interests of the people making the rules. Absolute power = they can do as they please.

The only person who I could see doing a good job in the white house would be A.Schwarzenegger, when people come to their senses and allow him to run if he so chooses.

1. The benign WMD's left over from the period when Reagan and Bush Sr. backed Saddam?
2. I cede you their incompetence.
3. Rudimentary vetting of sources and confirming authenticity might have been useful. (ex. Chalabi, Niger documents)
Clinton bash all day
4. Perhaps, but they could just as likely have been kept as a defense against our forces. It would be a natural response when nuclear strikes are not ruled out -- publically.
