What separates the Thai boxing ring version, from the old school Muay Chaiya? A lot of time it's the use of foul tactics, but as sport fighting has proved. High percentage techniques are the real equalizers against a real resisting opponent. Since eye poking groin striking & deadly blows, can't be practiced over & over at full speed they generally are low percentage!

If a muay chaiya fighter and a muay thai fighter of the same skill fought, the muay chaiya fighter would win. Where do you get your facts anyway? By youtube videos? Why don't you peel up a history book and see what exactly muay thai is.

@ACLogikel It's like you making fun of ninjutsu schools, ninjutsu is all but a dead art. Also it's like judging a martial art like karate based upon how they work in america. There are a lot of fake schools, muay boran got famous cuz people saw tony jaa movies and then people started to use it in name but only taught flashy muay thai. Guess what, muay boran styles aren't flashy, they very much are straight and to the point and ineffective.

@ACLogikel Not debating that all muay boran fighters are better than muay thai fighters, I mean a street fighter could be stronger than a martial artist. That's a fact of the individual people, but if you compare the styles, muay boran styles are by far superior. Muay thai was createde to make a safe ring fighting sport and that was always it's goal. Muay Boran styles were used for war when someone dropped their sword. But yeah, most muay boran schools are shit.

@ACLogikel Lol, I thought you atleast knew somewhat what muay thai was. Muay Thai was made to make a safe ring fighting sport. Are you seriously trying to argue that the sport is more effective than the war art? Old in this case means better. "top muay chaiya fighters" most schools sell muay thai with a muay boran name. Only a few are actually real like ajarn sak chai. How is muay thai superior? It's a sport, muay boran styles go for the kill.

@LightxKira5643 Muay Thai wasn't made by waterting down previous styles. The techniques in Muay Thai survived because of their effectiveness and they are high percentage techniques. You're delusional if you somehow think old means better. Take a look at top Muay Thai fighters compared to top Muay Chaiya fighters and you'll see a HUGE difference in skill level and fighting ability in favor of the Thai fighter.
