This 46 gallon tank houses 57 balloon lampeye tetras. (Started with 60 but 3 were killed by a crab which has now been moved) Out of all the schooling fish I've ever taken care of, these little guys are what I believe to be the best schooling fish yet. They always follow each other throughout the whole day. Feeding these guys is amazing. They devour their food all together. They are indeed little piranhas.

  • i always thought lamp eyes were ugly boring fish in stores but their schooling kinda makes up for it....im setting up a 40 gallon right now, (my 4th tank) and might copy this setup if you dont mind (atleast the large school of lampeyes). i see what u mean by little parahnas. my neon or cardinal schools never go after blood worms like that. very nice indeed!
