  • Ok, 2 comments here: The basic reason why you should never use things like alcohol or benzine is that they burn in liquid form, aka, as soon as you stop breathing, the flame ignites the leftover fuel on your face and in your mouth. paraffin doesnt do that.

For people who wanna know what paraffin can do to your body: swallowing it causes severe diarrhea . Breathing it in causes severe long infections, with a recovery time starting at 2 months, to never recover at all, or even can cause death.

  • Also, if too much is inhaled, it can cause pneumenitis, (chemical pneumonia), which, if treated as bacterial pneumonia, can exacerbate and be lethal. Be that as it may, liquid paraffin is still the safest as long as you take precautions to clean it off and not inhale (duh).

For the record, kerosene is petroleum based, a carbon chain double the length of diesel, hence more stable. Gasoline is half of diesel and white gas half that. Smaller chain=more volatile.

  • is it ok to use peanut oil? it would be my preference as i know it's safe. and if i wanted to fire breathe with my fire fans would the fuel i used for breathing effect how the fans burn because obviously traces would get on the fan wicks

  • @Streexhero WATCH and LISTEN THIS TIME! NO Alcohol. None. Alcohol BAD!!!

  • What website can i goto to buy some?

And what kinds of alcohole can i use in liquor terms or whatever else is availible?

I would really love to show off for holloween doing my fire breathing trick but i would love to use something different this time than just Corn starch, what type of Liquor or Vodka should i use that pretty much wont kill me if i'm doing the breathing & blowing correctly? :D Anyone have any suggestions? Please tell me.

    Oh & i study every answer b4 i do it 4real :) Thanks :D

  • does anyone kno where to get soft light or similiar paraffin in australia?

  • @Redguard15 By inhaling are we talking about liquid going down your wind pipe or simply the fumes?

  • @thewulf7 it would be the same as putting dust into your bouth and then breathing it. if inhaled too much it can cause an irritation wich may result in mucus buildup. it will make you feel like you have a chest cold. so basically if you are gone do this once or twice, its fine. but if you wanna do fire breathing on a regular basis, dont do it or switch to lamp oil.

  • @Heliosvector sorry but i was thinking or trying the cornstarch one because it seemed safe, what does this mean, it being abrasive to the lung wall. does that mean to stick to the wall. is it extremely dangerous?

    cheers.

  • @Bob65001 cornstarch is abrasive to the lung wall.

  • @TheBoucherC lamp oil is parafin. kerosine is pretty much parafin. ive found that in europe, its called parafin and in north america its called kerosine.

to check, make sure its a clear liquid, pour a drop onto some concrete outside an put a flame to it. If it ignites straight away, its not parafin. if it lights right away, chanes are you have accidentally bought white gas

  • @mafisy thats a stupid outlook imo. once white gas and parafin are earated, then ignited, they have the same effect. why use a gas that is more volatile in liquid form and gives off higher fumes. the only reason i ever use white gas is with fire poi when i want to do fire transfers
