I absolutely adore Montreal. Even though I lived there for 5 years, the city always held a certain wonderment for me. This film is a reflection of that fascination with discovery, of watching, experiencing, and of feeling like none of it was quite real.

A found footage film using 8mm reels. The reels were found amongst family films (not my family's, someone elses...), and are two films about Montreal. Both films are from the late 1960s. The red coloration is a natural occurrence, as film ages the layers of colours (yellow, cyan, magenta) degrade over time. Yellow is the most sensitive to light and thus is the first to go, followed by cyan. This is especially true of mass produced commercial films, and the reason why most films from this time appear red.

This took an hour and was way too much fun.
