Ah, the importance of punctuation: It should have a comma and be "My Girl, Bill."

Just like it should be "Come on, Eileen." The lack of a comma gives the phrase a totally different meaning!

ha ha ha... do you know what it was like growing up in the 70s as a kid named bill??? first we had " the wedding song" you know that one "wont you marry me biiiiill.then came "billy dont be a hero" and then to kick us bills in the guts stafford came up with this clanger !!!!!! ;)

Jim Stafford is an entertainer having a great time with great songs , and I have enjoyed all of them !

They wouldn't let, as I recall, our junior high "D.J." play this during lunch...it caused a stir in my hometown (Springfield, MO) even though some of us got the humor. Interestingly, Jim Stafford is a part-time resident of Branson two counties south - great guy, great showman.

Love how he does this all by himself in an era when some still would lip synch to "canned" music. This man is greatness...the album this came of ("Jim Stafford", catchy title) was, too.

The only time I can't vote up or down is when I am not signed in. I went back to the video that had hidden a comment of mine and it wasn't hidden anymore. YouTube hides posts if people mark them as spam or negative. Don't know how many clicks it takes for this to happen

I know Yahoo hides comments when too many people vote thumbs down on a comment but was unaware until now that from what you said, YouTube does this, too. I guess part of the problem for me is that I am unable to vote thumbs up or down about any videos or comments on YouTube and am not sure why and how I can fix the problem.

Your comments aren't hidden now but they were when I first came to this link. I have had at least one of my own posts hidden elsewhere. It's not because of profanity they are hidden when people vote thumbs down on them.

And Brenda, I forgot to mention about what you said about my comments being hidden on YouTube. From my experience, the only way to hide the comments is if I am the one doing it since i am the one posting them. I see numerous comments by people about other songs and they are filled with vulgarities and profanities and they are NOT hidden! So I am a bit confused when you said my comments were hidden since I have NEVER had anyone tell me this, regardless if they agreed or disagreed with me,

You still do NOT understand what I am saying! I am NOT angry and I am NOT saying that this song is about gay-bashing! I am just voicing my opinions of this song and we can agree to disagree since you are a Jim Stafford fan and I am not.

The song DID flop here and I am sure in other areas, too. And why do you care so much to keep disagreeing with me? Go find someone else for that.
