@madmic1967 i completey circumvented this band [swans] when i got into power electronics and noise.
coming back to these guys and the residents after seeing what they influenced for the last 20 years only makes it to were i cant find a reason not to respect them as true artists dedicated to their craft.

If I could time travel, this concert would be my first stop.

@ElRodeo1970 I meant "be" instead of "me. sorry
-
it is NOT that the "music" may me somewhat strange or annoying or dumb - it is all about their belief and COURAGE to go and DO (make/perform) it!

fucking hobos. ^^

I saw Swans in 1987. Part of their religious beliefs at the time was that listening to their music should be part of the divine experience. I can remember standing by the stage in a small club while Jarboe sang "In My Garden" and Michael rolled about on stage. Then Algis played that first bass chord and it was like an invisible fist hit the crowd. A guy next to me collapsed and others ran for the door while yet more clutched their ears and vomited. I managed 30 minutes. It was truly awesome.

Ok, I will. Give me a second. This band doesn't do anything to try to get anyone to like them, and that's part of what makes them so fucking adorable. On the other hand, there's no doubt that the singer needs some serious attention. He's begging for it.
An utterly honest artistic endeavor.
