  • love the sound of the english hi-lo and the american siren together.

  • Actually, this is the old British hi-lo, not the German one. The German one has a different pitch and it's louder.

  • Thats a first

  • The Federal No. 28 siren sounds exactly like a Q but with a quicker winddown and is not as loud. Also there are many. many videos of "Ladder 736" which has a Federal No. 78 siren with two-tone-harmony sound. Maybe Britian could consider?

  • Greetings from California! I didn't know you even had Qs in Britain. Good for you, too bad you can't use them, though. FDNY has the same thing though, not allowing real Qs anymore because of the noise. They can only use "electronic Qs", which kind of suck because they only electronically imitate the sound of a mechanical siren, and they're not nearly as loud, which is the best part about Wailers in the 1st place.

  • No you heard the Good Old British Two Tone Horns, not the continental rubbish.

Funny though, took us years to get Wailers in Britain, now America are having Two Tones.

Only problem we have is we're not allowed by law to use Q's and most Brigades are banning the use of Bull horns.

  • i think the best part is hearing the down shift and the roar of the cummings !

  • the airhorns are nice and loud

  • They are reffered as british airhorns. Their Asst. Chief, also the PA State Fire Commissioner, has a background with the FD in England, and had those put on when the Engine was built for the them by 4-Guys.
