Jazz Alert, TWH gelding 5 yr. just starting his gait training. He's showing great promise for loose reachy stride and nice headnod. He's a real "gentle giant" at 16.1 hands. Probably won't get any taller.

  • Jazza has a problem typical with many TWH in that he wants to throw his head upward and hollow his topline, which then causes his walking stride to disengage the sweeping walk into a jogging step. Dropping his head helps him keep the topline released as he brings up his speed. You must train a cue to drop the head that you can use while moving forward. • Very nice and interesting, I'm just waiting to see more videos. I would appreciate some explanations for the training. (I am just getting on my horse with the gait training)
