The Silver Link not being preserved was a crime. And so was the scrapping of Herring Gull. Six engines left, two in America, WHY in the USA? Any British locomotive should stay firmly on British rails.

Wonderful bit of film, in colour too. That was a bit of a rarity in those days. Silver Jubilee and The Coronation - good stuff. Location, Ganwick Curve?

@Prestonukbenny While I agree that Dominion of Canada is in a sad state at the moment (I cannot vouch for Dwight D. Eisenhower, although I think it's still treated decently), don't forget that BR gave the two engines to Canada and the US respectively, and thus are not going to go back unless the respective museums feel it is appropriate. Besides, 4489 is expected to undergo a cosmetic overhaul sometime this year, and 4496 is part of an exhibit with two of Eisenhower's carriages.
