Arris modems are CRAP! I've been through so many. My last modem died, Arris modem. When it popped and fizzed while I was BROWSING FACEBOOK, I unhooked it and threw it across the room, I am now on an RCA modem that I own, no rental fee and a good quality modem, and it's just nice on the Internet. I'm on Mediacom BTW. RCA DCM425 if you don't have phone. RCA DHG535 if you have VOIP phone.

I had Comcast and have to admit, in my area it was pretty reliable and fast (all new cabling), however they were expensive and their 250 gig cap was getting ridiculous. I switched to u-verse for tv and internet and couldn't be happier. If it's available in your area, try it - the speeds are about the same and the equipment is much, much better.
Comcast's tv boxes in my area was old and required frequent resets (hdr boxes). And yes, they SHAMEFULLY re-used crappy equipment.

We need to adopt the systems they have in europe and get aome real competition in the USA. Comcast dish and Frontier do not compete with one another, they have the same bullshit plans, and the same bullshit prices. Japan and Europe have 100 times more cable, and 50 times faster interest net and phone for 29.99 a month.
We are all getting super fucked in the USA.
