  • Hi,

Please show us how to add fabric to the existing fabric .

    Thanks

  • @donnafaytoday I did! See my other videos, it's video #6 in the series

  • Hi LauraJane, thank you for your wonderful videos. They are clear and simple. Would it be possible for you to make a video about the "tools" that are used in rag rug making? Is it possible to make a tool? Thank you again for the inspiration that you are!

  • @mo4tom Yes, it's definitely easy to make a tool!! I talk about it a bit at Rag Rug Cafe (website), but basically, you just need something sharp and pointy. Some people use tweezers and tape the end together with electrical tape. Some people buy a tool (you can buy one at RRC but you don't have to), you can use a crochet hook (although I've never tried that), you could even use a stubby pencil!! Get creative, and don't let the lack of tool stop you.

  • Where do you find the tool to do this? I found some online but none looked anything like this. Or is there something else you can use that might be around the house?

  • @ladygish The tool that I used is home-made, made out of a metal coat-hanger! There's a picture of it at "Rag Rug Cafe" (google it)

  • very nice keep the good work.

  • @Happen2008 Surely what you meant to say was: "Thank you Laura for creating this video for all of us to watch. Especially when you didn't have to."

  • DEar Laurajean, I loved your rug making I used a clip from my hot rollers and I closed the open end with a bandaid perfect Thanks mary Ann

  • I use a "Bodkin" as the tool. I bought it at a local craft or fabric store, it works awesome, and looks like a tweezer with a ring around it.

  • Very different style to the crocheted or plaited I usually make, interesting use of a macrame stitch. I think i will try to make some macrame string mats with this method. Not used a tool before with macrame though, fingers only.

  • This is the best instruction of this that I've ever seen! It's perfect even with the sound off (everyone's asleep here). Thanks.

  • THE most simple explaination... thanks heaps :)

  • Thanks Laura, Beautiful!...i see, you are a very good teacher!!

    Namasté.
