@Lalo3001 The funny thing about the "other" companies is that, for most of these products, they used research which came from "Bell Laboratories". Bell Labs was owned until the mid-1990's by AT&T. In fact, a lot of these ideas have roots to research done in the 70's. Do your research first. Oh wait, forgot, this is the internet, you don't have to do that here.

I Love You Traylor Howard !

the 1993 ads were better than the 1994 ad

The DMV photo said 2002!? How funny...none of that was around. I remember I got my first brick phone in 1985 then a bag phone in 1990 and then car phone installed in 1994. In 1996 a Motorola flip (which was interesting leaving on my desk at work) then 2000 a Nokia. Then summer of 2003 a color Nokia screen. 2007 Moto Razr. Summer 2010 iPhone4. Wow time flies!!

@BentTV Yes, but it's still not quite an ATM--though to be honest going to DMV's nowadays (particularly in Illinois as the video demonstrates) is about almost as fast as one, as they've streamlined the system quite well--I don't think I've spent more than 5 minutes waiting for a renewal--picture included--in the last decade.

Totally agree- the mechanic thing wouldn't even make an ounce of sense...1) who has a garage at home like that? 2) who has the tens of thousands to buy the necessary tools?
The ATM license renewal would rule. As would the AI assistant.

Who would want to be walked through a car repair and risk screwing up when you could pay someone who knows what they are doing to do it? Just because somethings can be done doesn't mean they should.

@NeoSquirrel You can renew your drivers license via computer in some states....semi close....they have to mail it to you though

Well the 1st one is not going to happen. Thanks a lot Patriot Act!
Ehh, this one was a little off. I mean, sure, you can use a webcam like this to fix a car, but the ATM driver's license and the AI personal assistant, not really. Otherwise, the majority of their spots were pretty much dead-on. Although you're hard-pressed to find something called a "phone booth" these days...

The irony is that AT&T didn't bring you any of this stuff......other companies did.
All they're responsible for is slow DSL, sky high-multi year contracts with steep cancellation fees. And of course, obsolete land line service that only your parents and grandparents appreciate.
