  • the osmonds are a tragic family

  • @fdasherv That's exactly what I was thinking.

  • Spirit babies and magic underwear! LDS is a cult using tactics of "friending" and such. VERY organised and tactful, probably the strongest and best organised religion there is. My daughter is in LDS and her husband has told me many things within, taken secret pictures and practices. It pretty much eliminates the need of Christ and his death, because mostly it goes over to the guy in golden eyeglasses to read a angelic tablet. Osmonds would be killed to try and leave, don't think I kidding. CULT!

  • Why don't the Mormons just kill their gays outright? Instead we get this dog and pony show.

  • Gravity can be a bitch.

  • All you know is how much you hurt, how lonely you are and feel and how much you want it all to stop. But you see no sensible way of making it stop. Most people who commit suicide, never talk about trying it, never threaten it, never give a clue that it is going to happen. Something as simple as a fight with a friend or as major as a breakup or a death of a loved one can send one spiraling. No rhyme or reason. Stop blaming and start trying to have empathy and compassion.

  • I read these posts and see so many pointing the finger of blame. Blame the LDS religion, the mother, this President Monson character. Being that I was raised in a LDS household, I am not a fond member of the religion and feel that ANY organized religion is a cult... but to blame them for someones actions is wrong. I also attempted suicide when I was 13. I can't say it was really depression... but you get to such a dark point in life that you can't see the light, or the love.

  • Age ravages all! But, in their younger years, the Osmonds were ALL physically gifted in the area of appearance, as well as being kind and extremely talented! I know that all of them will overcome this, and continue to entertain us for years to come! Thank you, George and Olive!

  • Two weeks out of high school, a neighbor who graduated in my class went into the woods behind his parent's home and blew his head off. With a gun that was a graduation gift from his parents, as they were hunters (what a horrible irony). 18 and gone, before the summer even got underway. What causes someone to give up before they even begin? He killed himself because some girl apparently broke up with him. I've no idea as to why Marie's son killed himself. Depression in both cases, possibly.

  • How horribly sad, so young. Depression is inner hell, it's hard to describe unless you've been there. Just a black hole inside.

Btw, religion sucks. Ban religion please !!

  • The church is to blame. LDS puts so much on the kids to be straight, tells them that they will NOT be allowed to rejoin their families in the afterlife, that God hates them for being gay... Not a very loving religion at all, with no place for a kid who happens to be gay to fit in. All DUE respect towards someone's beliefs, but this "church" is more of a cult, and the religion causes so many people, millions of gay children of LDS members, unbearable pain and grief. GOD doesn't care about gay

  • Mormon peeps have a president? Is that like the Pope for Catholics?

  • good bless young lad he is the lord

  • @chesley69 bastard? you have no respect? smh!

  • @chesley69

Society is the reason he was a poor, screwed-up, bastard. But yes, it is sad.

  • Can't understand why any Mother would tell her Son "To wait til Monday" when he expressed to her that he was upset. and then to add insult to injury, that when Michael called her the night right before he jumped to talk to her, she went on stage instead telling whoever took the call that she would call him back later. Marie, later never came for Michael and yes, you are to blame somewhat. Live with that. And you were also on stage when your Daughter Brianna was rushed to the Hospital..hmmm?

  • What is sad is that Monson is the one that caused his death.

  • Such pain. Thankfully she has a strong family to help her carry it.

  • @RampGuy1 his name was michael bryan.

  • Poor, screwed-up bastard. Sad.

  • @Atitoinnyc Your comment is out of place, if someone brainwash people to do good things and love your own life nobody commited sucide, If someone really wants to die, the religion does´nt matter.

  • @ishbalangirl its Oprah, backwards spelled Harpo (Productions Inc.) The song she sang is called Pie Jesu.

  • I feel bad. Your soon is a shinning gold of God. And these mother is a beatifull musician and voice. God bless and protect...I see this special mother in the Oprah sing " Pie Jesu" and is the perfect emocion you give to us...the spiritual presence of your soon. I'm brazilian and sorry my english errors...God love you and your child, Miss Mary Osmond.

  • I feel so bad for her.

What do you think happens after we die?
