The Back Kick is the most powerful of all taekwondo kicking techniques. The mechanics of the Back Kick resemble those of the side kick. The Back Kick is most frequently used as a counter attack. Proper technique with the back kick is achieved when the speed and power generated by rotation of the upper body is transferred into the liner thrusting motion of the leg.

  • explaining is professional. thx

  • more like old style, ITF back side kick...Amazing speed and technique, I would not want to get tagged with it...i practice it more of a straight back kick, right down the center, no room to get blocked inbetween, unless your kick is slow and sloppy, not tucking it in and or just dragging it up from the ground....TKD forever!

  • @Tyrannosaur25 both are correct if I'm not mistaking

  • i have the ultimate respect for any Taekwondo master as i am a 1st degree black belt in WTF Taekwondo, but the kick you are performing looks more like a back-side kick, as the foot is angled horizontally, the foot is usually angled vertically, putting all the power in the heel

  • very useful and powerful defensive kick and a great tutorial for it!

  • the kick look like side kick?

  • wow~ nice teaching, thanks master :D

  • sooo good
