A MAN slaughtered his lover then sliced and diced her body in a cannibalistic cooking ritual.

Christopher Lee McCuin bizarrely called police after the filleting and cooking stage to confess.

The 25-year-old told an emergency dispatcher he had killed Jana Shearer, 21, and was boiling her body parts at his mother's home.

When authorities arrived at the home, they found Shearer's mutilated body, one ear boiling in a pot of water on the stove and human flesh sitting on a plate on the kitchen table.

Police said it was unclear whether McCuin consumed any part of Shearer's body - but it appeared he meant to.

"We cannot prove that he did (eat her). He was either going to, had been or led us to think that he was doing it," Smith County Sheriff J.B. Smith said.
