@shoes1922 i said it already, i have respect for anyone thats willing to stand up and fight for the rights of others when they cant. this was the quickest means possible to ending slavery. would you rather it took longer than it did to find a more appropriate option? wonder how many more slaves would of died. was it really worth not taking this option? see you understand why it was done, but you arent looking at it correctly. there is plenty of reason to be pissed at slavery..3/5ths isnt one.

@shoes1922 i justify the clear things that you ignore. the 3/5ths was a means to begin the process of freedom for black people. in a country were life, liberty, and property was the law..and slaves were considered property...there were many votes to free slaves...but it would of never passed in that time..with the racial distribution we had at the time..hence the 3/5ths compromise..after the civil war...you know..the war where Americans killed each other for the freedom of slaves?
