I can clearly see why most pilots hate flying to JFK...I thought it was due to heavy traffic but it must be from the assholes that are somehow called ATC

Its not that he is stupid, he is a major safety hazard. ALL pilots MUST be able to speak english as it is the worldwide atc language. if you can't, you shouldn't be flying, at least internationally. If the pilot and atc can't communicate your asking for trouble.

@sands2003 You must have an IQ of a rock. that Air china pilot clearly cant converse and follow instructions. How many times the ATC have to repeat and he's speaking clear english but the chinese pilot dumb brain wasn't able to comprehend. i have one question for you though. ARE U CHINESE? lol

English is the international language of Air Traffic Control. Any one who does not speak comprehensible english is not fit to be an international airline pilot. The confusion that poor english such as the chinese pilot demonstrates that can cost airlines millions, or perhaps even someone's life. I doubt you'd be so sympathetic if the pilot had taxied to the incorrect position and caused a collision or even just a delay.

JFK ATC is the worst, no doubt!

Passenger: *Overhears ATC conversation* "thats it!" *opens emergency door* "Fuck it im walking to the gate"
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Americans think that everyone in the world MUST speak perfect English in the way THEY do. They think that everyone should understand the almost-argo language:
"Have they cleared ya inta tha ramp".... Try to speak Chinese you moron controller. And don't get mad, this is your fucking job, that's why you are paid 6000$ per month...

@mimithem english is the official language of ATC. all pilots must be able to at least speak and understand english to a certain degree. In times of emegency they are permitted to use their own language if ATC allows. The pilots of JAL123 spoke english and japanese because of the stress they were under.
And if you don't get mad and frustrated during your job then I wish I had the same job as yours.

@dave46563 I agree that English is the main ATC language worldwide but it is still difficult for someone who's native language is not English to speak like an American. Nevertheless, I have seen no phraseology saying "Have they cleared you into the ramp". ATC is not the everyday conversation, it's a total of specific phrases and you may know it better than me. Let us not talk about emergency situations where the conversations may be away from phraseology...

@mimithem how else are ATC going to ask if they've been cleared into the ramp? ATC does have phraseology but there is no specific way of asking a question like that. it's not like he said "hey dude, are you allowed into your parking place now?"
