My singing teacher showed this song to me when I was 11 years old and we used to sing it together. 8 years later and that memory is still as strong as ever. This is a wonderful song.

I come from Appalachia and have always been told we descended from Scotch Irish, which were were people who were Irish who moved th Scotland, and were hated there, so the were outcasts from both Ireland and Scotland. The salt of the Earth. I was embarrassed to be a Hillbilly from WV when I was young, now I'm kinda proud of it. I've learned that the way we mis-pronounce some words such as "deesh" instead of dish is because of where we came, We don't go fishing, we go a feeshin' lol!
