If you like this movie, that's fine with me, but don't expect a positive review of this movie at all. This is more of a rant than it is a review. These are my opinions, and you are privillaged to share yours. If you're willing to sit through it, view with caution. Also you'll have to excuse the grammar errors I've made XD. Viewer discretion is advised.

Here' Nostalgia Chick's video from where I got it from:

  • I am going to have to agree to disagree with you.

this movie is amazing, you need to give it another chance, the only reason you don't like it is because you didn't like it the first time you watched it.

That and you can't, in any way, relate to the main character.

You want Plainview to make things better for his son, but you don't see that his ambition overrides his love for H.W. By the time H.W. came to Daniel in the end he was already a grown man.

  • @rovdjurx12

No I am not teasing you, nor am I being stupid. When I see a character who's selfish, nasty, and carrying all these flaws around them, I expect them to change at the end. It's called CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! This movie doesn't have it. Let me ask you, what's the point of "Anazlyzing" this character's "Insight" if he's not going to change? Why would I even draw the interest of a selfish bastard of Plainview in the first place if he's not supposed to be liked?

  • @Shaymeonyoo

I could care less what others say about this movie at this point, even to proffessoinal directors. Not even Tarantino conviced me when he talked about it.

Pan's Labyrinth was a nice blend between fantasy and historical literature with beautiful cinematography and an ending that left you to decide for the little girl's fate.

There Will Be Blood was just "Acting".

  • @Shaymeonyoo

Really? You're going to tease the choices I have for the 2000's like Harry Potter? You'll might as well tease those who have "Back to the Future" as their favorites of the 80's because of not being an Oscar Wining film as well.

  • @Shaymeonyoo

Yes I saw the scene where Plainview was all drunk and regretfull about his son, and I didn't buy it at all. Why? Because if he was this regretful, shouldn't he... oh I don't know.... APOLOGIZE TO HIM??? We don't get another moment of that subject as soon as we're cheaply jump cutted to Eli.

Inception was a philisophical and an intriguing narrative to the mind of slumber and its special effects supported it. There Will Be Blood was just "Acting".

  • I'm willing to bet Guillermo Del Toro would tell you that this movie is better conceived, directed and performed than Pan's Labyrinth.

    Don't be a noob-sauze.

  • just watch it again without all of the spectacle and bullshit surrounding its reviews, watch it with an objective mind.

Place yourself in the position someone like Daniel Plainview from the beginning of the film.

Keep with the slow pace, and try to absorb all of the subtle nuance in the film.

    Its amazing, I guarantee you.

  • as an example, at the end of the movie, when Daniel is in the throes of a binge, scenes pop up between he and his son, H.W.

In those scenes, you see Daniel sober and playing with H.W. in a dismissive manner. Moments of regret.

It is subtle and fleeting, but those few glimpses in film get a point across if you catch them and rework it in relation to the rest of the film.

    Plenty of examples like that.

It is an amazing movie, I am sorry Harry Potter and the Seven Stones have a hold on you.

  • @rovdjurx12 I guess you missed the part where Plainview became a complete alcoholic full of regret.

Its clear you missed many things condensed in this movie, might want to watch it a few more times before running your mouth.

Inception doesn't begin to compare to this movie in terms of detail.

  • @GoldenFox17

At that momment he was an emotinal wreck . That is what the entiere movie is about. HIS SELF INSIGHT. Even if he freatend the guy to death would´t mean that he would get away with it. If I told you right in your face that I would kill you do you think that I would go to jail for that. Unless you tell the cops I dont think so (+ if I was a rich buissnes man that keept your town alive I dont think you would want me in jail). Do you get it.
