Rabbi Nachman party animals -read and watch notes links

Yes.. Yes... I know i'm overdue for a vid with a bit more substance.. but for the moment I think these guys are a top act! They can easily replace a vid of me talking!

Rabbi Nachman followers living it up in Central Tel Aviv (Allenby Street). Recorded 13/11/07.

I was just on my way to a bus stop when I ran in to them. I won't lie: I was hoping to run in to them. It's one of those things.. As we say: "Only in Israel". (except I hear there are a couple in new york but we'll leave that out)

These religious Jews believe it's a great commandment to be happy so they drive around playing loud music and dancing whenever possible (not joking). It's usually trance (as you can see in other links below) but in this case it was obviously some sort of middleeastern/dance hybrid music. Unfortunately I was too late to catch'm dancing (they got in van by time camera was recording).

it's worth checking it out to understand just how serious (in terms of devoted to this happy thing) those people are.

It's such a shame I didn't get the camera out for so long.. literally.. they ended up at a red light.. so they opened the side door and came out and danced until it went green.

On your point though... i'm not sure how much pleasure they get doing this but yeah the idea is good.

If they aren't experiencing pleasure how can they be experiencing much less spreading happiness?

i donno. just seems difficult to keep the spirit up day in day out.. They do it so they obviously like it otherwise they can easily act like other orthodox hassids which is more reserved. So obviously they want to do it and one would assume enjoy it.

When I lived in Tel Aviv I used to see these guys all the time. That was back in 04, it's good to know they're still at it.
