According to the encyclopedia, for both side piercing kicks, you perform the kicks... "pulling both hands in front of the chest...". Punching out at eye level when doing side piercing kicks in patterns is done "unless otherwise indicated". In this case something else is indicated.
How come on the left side kick he extends out the high punch but on the right side kick he pulls the arms in? Is that correct? I'm learning this pattern but that's a bit confusing.

@h0rangi Under the "Official" ITF guidlines (General Choi), the arm is to be extended when executing both the right and left sidekicks.
