@Leitilumo It isn't really correct to have basso continuo/harpsichord this late in the era I don't really think ... they had been lost earlier on

@SilenceTheQuiet just from things I've read, he could be a bit arrogant because, obviously, he knew what he was capable of and that there really was no one that could match him on most things. but i agree, I LOVE HIS MUSIC!

The tempo is not on the point, it is about 110/100. But what the heck!

Played faster than usual. And I think, that's good! Actually, this symphony conveys a certain amount of aggressivness behind it's beauty. An angry man, hold back by society's conventions.

Perfect tempo. Fast enough to feel urgent, but slow enough that the the original theme does not feel like it contains grace notes. :)

Agreed as far as tempo. love the song, love classical music, LOVE MOZART!!! I wish I could have met him... I wonder if he was nice or snobby...? Oh well, i don't care!

For me, the best tempo. Bring to light the true spirit and dynamism of Mozart's music. thanks.

Mackerras is usually good for a scholarly tempo. I consider him one of the best current conductors, even though he doesn't conduct the most prestigious orchestras in the world.
perfect tempo

I love it, very interesting interpretation of the 40th. I usually prefer it slower but I think this turns out just right.
