My 1995 Legacy's alternator looks identical to this one, including the black shield that protects the pulley. I replaced my alternator a few months ago and it was just as you describe.
One point: It's easier and just as safe to remove the negative battery lead instead of the positive lead. Fiddling with the positive lead could cause a spark if you touch metal, but it's not a problem with the negative lead.

I just bought a 93 Legacy Non-Turbo.
I only have a problem with check Engine that comes on when I use mainly 4th or 5th gear on the highway.(Above 80K/hr)
dose anyone know what's the problem??

Videos of what? I'm not actually very good at car repair...but I'll be replacing the transmission fluid soon, so I guess I'll try and document it :)
