When you take a root (C) note from a basic triad (C, E, G) and place it an octave higher, it's considered a first inversion. From there, take the 3rd (E) and place it an octave higher and you'll get a second inversion. From there, take the 5th (G) and place it an octave higher and you'll end up with the same chord you started with. Make sense?
In the video, I don't mention that because I'm trying to simplify the concept.
