We hooked up a relay to the grid to turn off the light, indicating when an insect hits the grill.

  • the original voltage was about 17000 I believe. I was able to reduce it to 900 because I didn't want to fry the relay which was meant for 220 volts. At 900 volts you won't actually cook any bugs anymore unless you actually hold them, they fry a little slower.
