  • with me being a english patriot, Gallic music doesnt really sound good to me, but i must say this is a beautiful version of the song! LONG LIVE ENGLAND, SCOTLAND, WALES AND NORTHERN IRELAND

  • I love England! And i love Scotland! Wales? meh...

  • With respect Cecil Rice Spring did not write the music - that was written by Gustav Holst and since the lyrics don't contain the word England or Britain or Scotland any where - who cares what he meant!? In the end the words and music will mean what they mean to the listener - sad it all boils down to nationalist/unionist nonsense - the biggest dividers of the human race. Beautiful piece of music!!

  • excellent yet again and another fantastic track-makes you want to get out there on this october day ,brave the elements and give it your all. which is what im going to do.thanks.

  • hamefurgid - you are right. Cecil Spring-Rice did intend this to be about England and Heaven. But . . . . if that is the case, can you explain why so many ENGLISH Vicars and Priest will NOT allow this to be sung during marriage services? Yet, in Scotland, Ministers are more than happy for this to be sung?????

  • oh my god this is great. i'm not Scottish, but the bagpipes have to be one of THE most beautiful sounding instrument.

  • @3tangle3 Dear ,dear, what a foul tongue for one so well "educated"! Maybe Cecil wasn't quite as humankind spirited as our fine Bard when he wrote his lyrics then. Burns on the other hand, wrote poetry, including Auld Lang Syne for all mankind to enjoy and is known and sung all over the world. Nevertheless, I vow to thee my country is a beautiful song and when I sing it in church, think of my homeland which is both Scotland AND the rest of the British Isles. Have a nice life :)

  • @hamefurgid I studied Cecil Spring rice...he said its a song about england and heaven................its not drivel....this is his meaning FOR FUCK SAKE HE WROTE THE FUCKING SONG LYRICS......stop being so unionist and get your head out of your arse
