Hitman Jef Costello is a perfectionist who always carefully plans his murders and who never gets caught. One night however, after killing a night-club owner, he's seen by witnesses. His efforts to provide himself with an alibi fail and more and more he gets driven into a corner.

  • Great movie. I enjoyed seeing the Paris of that time, 1967 and the interiors, subway, cars, telephones etc.

  • Look closely at Jef Costello. He's the man all yer Jason Stathams, yer Vin Diesels, and yer Bruce Willises aspire to be. He is the epitome of cool.

I think a lot of the people overpraising Drive haven't seen Le Samourai or Michael Mann's Thief, each better thrillers about criminals.

  • @captain07234 Agreed, I liked "Drive" but I found it slightly bizarre. The director was trying to showcase or cram many styles and techniques into a thin story.

Yeah, Drive was overrated and the "coolness" of Gosling's character was forced. I also had trouble buying him as a tough guy. I also got the feeling with Drive the director wasn't telling a story so much as saying 'Look at what a great director I am.'

  • @jucurtis23 Well, yeah, except this guy is cooler and this movie is better

  • Are you kidding?! Is this the real thing??! Wooooow, the best color film noir was here on YouTube all this time! HA! Damn you big-only-american-post-2000-blockbusters rentals!!

  • before you start watching this beware that the final part only tends to get removed, though there is one part 10 up for now

  • nice to see birds and dogs getting some of the main dialogue for a change

  • what's with the piece of paper(money?) at around 3:00? where is he putting it and why?

  • @teratophobia Jef Costello who is Alain Delon. epitome of class and therefore cool
