The "Revolution" spot created by Austin-based GSD&M Idea City incorporates unprecedented technology to film the combustion process of a BMW M3 V8 engine without using computer generated effects.

Filming the process was not easy. Manifolds were cut, cylinders shaved, and lighting holes were drilled in three complete M3 V8 engines for Director Raf Wathion to use special cameras and lenses to capture the action.

  • @XmojotronX i own a bmw it stands for Bavaria Motor Works.

  • European cars are the best! All "american muscle" cars are a damn horrible mistake lol, American engineers were very stupid designing cars for straight lines, they didn't realize theres turns and twists out there. Europe will eat the US for breakfast when it comes to making cars.

  • that was the best car commercial ever!

  • iam a muscle car guy but the e46 m3 is 1 of my favorite cars

  • @jbernard1234 I see your point know and totally agree, people usually think a car must be better because it's more expensive.

  • @rayvdub sure, no rights or wrongs...but i think you missed what i saying, i was asserting that it doesn't take a prestigious marquee to make great vehicles, something that is regarded as an econobox (civic type r) is arguably one of the most complete packages from an enthusiast standpoint, all for a little over $20K. RX-8 would support that thesis as well. To address the rotary, it's true displacement is disputable: drivingsports (dot) com/site/2008/12/rotary-vs-piston-engine-equivalency

  • @jbernard1234 No, I disagree how about the rotary engine, it out powers any N/A aspirated engine out there, i mean the s5 13b for example is the highest output production engine to ever be produced 1.3l engine making over 160hp and without a turbo.

  • @airborneCZ Their car performances speak more than their commercials.

  • im myself beemer owner and unfortunately I must say that BMW commercials are most boring car commercials!

  • @airtouch01 naw man i say both m3 for a sunday drive and a gtr for the track

  • b16b (civic type r engine for the uninformed) was the first production naturally aspirated engine to break the 100hp/liter benchmark...and it was extremely reliable in doing so...the civic it came in had a strategically seam welded monocoque chassis, independent double wishbone suspension, limited slip differential, and one of the most neutral handling cars ever built...all from a presumably measly low $20k civic; and this is from the proud owner of an m3...its all about perspective...

  • Hey everyone, they just released the fix for the lag issues in an update/recall... mine is at the dealership right now
