  • Very nice Unc, my Uncle was a chord connoisseur like you, WOW!!

  • Bill, beautiful job on one of my all-time favorite standards. Diggin' your chord changes too. Awesome and sensitive performance. Really enjoyed it.

  • Wow! Bravo! Yes!

  • Amazing performance...very skill and talent...bravo!

  • You inspired me to learn this song, Just started but its coming along, ill try to make it my own after i learn it. Found some sheet music.

  • I hear you. The confusing part for me is the theory. I like the way Joe Pass breaks it down to dominants minor's seventh's etc. he's said he never concerned himself with all chord double speak, just what family it belonged too. Larry Coryell had a great little series that was posted on youtube I think its still their. Have you ever seen Tommy Emanuel from Australia. Got to get me a Maton guitar.

  • I tend to play with the jazzier R&B guys because they are more interested in 'groove' rather than who can play the most obscure changes. I am into this for fun, growth and enjoyment. So what you are hearing is a blues player playing jazz standards with his own arrangement...

  • I was a blues and r & b player for many years, and still am, but one day, I said I am going to try to make the transition into jazz and started altering my playing approach so I could sound jazzier. I actually started doing the jazz arrangements some 25 yrs ago, because that is all I thought I could do. Now I play more jazz related things, however, I cannot keep up with the really hard be-bop guys...

  • I'm not a jazz player but I can play standards that are not overly difficult, That's why I like your rendition, sweet and to the point while maintaining a certain sophistication. I posted a blues vid entitled garage band blues on my page Id love to hear a critique if you get a chance and another vid called bebop or garage jazz i think i forgot the title but its a blues player attempt to sound jazzy.
