@kalidabod I don't know about how well they work. Those lag bolts are new to the system - they are old, about 50 years old and been through a barn fire. I figured that should anneal them a little bit and they may be able to rust up better.
I figure inefficient but passive is far easier than having to constantly fiddle with something that works well.
Now, I see rusty nails over there, may I ask you if does work for you, as I have read in so many places in the Internet that talk about the inefficiency of this method. As for me, I start using this method, I don't believe whatever I read over the Internet. Still, I would like to get any insight from you about this, if you happen to notice an improvement in iron uptake.
@Angelsigns2012 it is a Sterilite tote. It cracked when I drilled the hole for the stand pipe.

Is that a Rubbermaid bin or a cheap Chinese Walmart special? I know those cheap ones break down very quick.
