you all don´t really get it,
the two roads stand for a final decision of life that has to be made and he will not know at anytime whether his decison to take the road less traveled by was a good or a bad decision,
but he will remember this moment in the future and he will sigh, because he doesnn´t know whether it was the better decision.

Frost wrote this making fun of a friend of his. I mean you can take it as you want it, but even Frost said this poem has no deeper meaning that just him making fun of his friend,

do not try to tell me what a poem means. they are for your enjoyment, what this poem means to me is none of your business, and for me to tell you how you should feel after reading this poem well, that is just silly...read it for your own meaning.

I think you are missing the point that both paths are "about the same" and "equally lay" ready for wear. There is no difference to be explored. He is poking fun at his friend and people like him who go on and on about what could have been, etc.
I love that people use this as an "inspirational" poem when it is quite sarcastic.

I think both interpretations are valid. He did, after all, take the road less travelled.

at the end of the road he hopelessly or with resignation knows that whatever road he choose the end is the same, or he fool himself to think that what choice he made could change the end.
