You can't retire credit for Loeb and Citroen, because it's an incredible driver and a team who knows how build fast and reliability cars... but, what a poor list of drivers since 2006...
I'd say that rallying still had a few pretty damn good years left as of '97. 2001 had a brilliant title race. But I agree that the WRCar era was the beginning of the end.

I think his had it to easy.
Over the last 20 odd years, each hear was packed with top quality drivers.
Loed hasn't had anyone to really go up against since 05.

Ja. Loeb's domination was really the first nail in the coffin. Now with Subaru and Suzuki pulling out, I'd say the gig is up.

WRC was dead to me after Loeb started making it his own.
There were some great rallies from 97 to 03.
