Our buddy Dan from the field, aka "Big D" built this giant scale Yak-54 and flew it like it should be. Dan had also written up a thread on a forum, which will show what setup he used along with build instructions as well. So stay tuned for that.

Check out the yak here:

  • Dan is a Very Impressive pilot. He just toned down his flying for this review since he didn't want to crash it and it was only the second flight

  • @HOTBLUME: YOU A FUCKEN IDIOT!!!!!

  • @hotblume you just proved your intellect by starting abuse over a simple argument. I made valid points and you had to get all upset and start calling me a moron. There's no need for name calling mate. And i already mentioned that smaller planes are better off with electric setups.you obviously don't pay much attention. And i just bought a multiplex funjet for your info. I'm not against electric, just stating facts that you can't handle. So go away!!!

  • @hotblume Yes look them up they are becoming more popular! Its just the flight time that sucks and the price!

  • @bruiserhzj Gasoline is not replenishable and only a few cities are powered by coal burning power plants you moron. Alot of cities are powered by nuclear, hydroelectric, ect...

  • @bruiserhzj I wouldnt say that. Electric engines are more efficient when your talking about .50s and lower planes. yes gas can fly full scale planes but you cannot fly a park size gas aircraft 100mph+ and futher more you can find a gas plane that his 100mph for under 100bucks for larger aircraft. And electric engines are increasing in size everyday you might find yourself proven wrong some time in the future

  • @kaleb610 ... You just said your dad owns a full scale electric plane..... so your saying your dad has an electric plane he flies in....

  • They actualy have many full scale electric airplanes. My dad owns one!

  • Pilot has mad skillz. Very nice.

  • And not just that...gasoline engines will never be taken over, because it's more efficient to run large planes on internal combustion engines. Small planes yeah sure electric is better and easier to maintain. You ever see a full size aircraft with electric motors?? You never will. Electric has a limit....Internal combustion doesn't.

  • @lisarenee3505 you don't know what you're talking about. People keep saying electric is "clean power". Did you know that every time you recharge your big heavy brick-like lipos it takes big coal burning power plants to supply you with that power?? Actually gasoline is much cleaner than electric. AND more efficient especially with planes this size or bigger. Going electric in a plane this big makes it much heavier from huge batteries and they don't last half as long as a tank of gas.
