When recording the songs for their 2005 release, Healthy in Paranoid Times, Our Lady Peace had several tracks left over. Quite a few live versions are available, some heard of but never heard, but most of them have never even been talked about. This track is a bit different than the rest though, as it has a studio version available. It made it's way onto Labatt Blue's (a Canadian beer) CD. The song was also performed at the 2004 Juno Awards.

  • Anyone find it odd that the song constantly uses driving as a metaphor in the song, yet it appeared on a promo CD for beer? Just what are you suggesting, Labbat?!

  • Hahaha. Yeah.

It actually kind of fits with the very first line - "Driving down a one-way road (possibly the wrong way?). Some courage (driving into oncoming traffic must take SOME sort of courage, right?) and the radio."

  • Lol, exactly. Beer is even referred to as "liquid courage."

  • @StunningSteve @StunningSteve It's ok. But have you read the original lyrics, that were only played live? Far superior in my mind. Here's the chorus (search youtube for "olp not afraid live" for the live version from the Juno awards):

I'm not afraid, I'm not alone

I'm just a hangin' on way too long

    Let out, let me in

Well let me stumble when I fall, if

you noticed me, I noticed you

But it's the simple things I feel you knew

Let me out, let me in

    Again

  • I;d love to get this MP3

  • @StunningSteve

    true

but nothing matches Where Are You out of the whole album...

now THAT'S A CLASSIC that hangs with all the pre-HIPT hits, and most of the Burn Burn stuff

  • If this song was relegated to a promo disc in a case of beer just imagine what remains unreleased!

  • raylor17 that version is on youtube its the 2003 grammy version and yeh its awesome

  • Great ♥ OUR LADY PEACE 4eveeeer ♥♥♥
