@andycas076 Because the market is already saturated and there are already big names in that world that do the job probably better than Rolands hardware does. What I would like is the other way round, for roland to do what they did best, but better.
Re-release all those classics like the tr-808/909 and tb-303 all those classic synths juno/jupiter etc and introduce more modern features into thier sequencers.

@Roelandvinken i think the only hardware seq that can do that is the rm1x and rs7000.

i'm watching this demo to see if there is a real difference b/w the 808 & the 909. although i'd love to have either one.

@djsmithy The Electribes have been more popular than the MC series because of their long history and much lower price. They are nice but you get what you pay for. Of course now we have no real choice. Roland dropped production of their groovebox line due to the market domination by software.

Can you use different track lengths with a patters?
For instance, sting sequence of 8 bars running with a boomtsjikboomtjik 1 bar????
On the mpc its always a pain in the ass when you have channel with chords of 8 bars, and you have to copy that 1 bar drum track again.

@gurfunkt
At lot of people seem to report that the Electribes are better for techno.
Is it because of the sounds the ESX come with or something to do with the actual control of the hardware?
djsmithy 1 year ago
if you want analogue get analogue but this obviously not got loads of knobs its got some classic roland sounds. i have an emx i use for techno but for other styles i use the 808
